Available in over 30 languages, iGoogle is a customisable skin surrounding a Google search box. The search functionality is the same as the normal Google homepage.
A personal iGoogle page is available to each Google user, if you have signed into your Google account. You can access your iGoogle page when you are signed in on any computer. There are an astounding number and variety of gadgets available for iGoogle pages, including dictionary searches, calendars, weather and news reports, photos, games and many, many more. Themes provide customised backgrounds, and some change throughout the day based on the time at your location.
You can create an iGoogle page on your computer, even if you don't have a Google account, but that iGoogle page is only available on that particular browser, on that one computer.
As you can customise iGoogle to contain information and tools that you regularly use, this is a useful page to set as your browser's homepage. It then is displayed every time you start the browser.
I'd love to work at Google, although with the economic downturn, I'm sure the office perks are suffering a little. They have some amazing visitors, such as Beardyman and Nathan Flutebox Lee!

nice going Kymberly
is this the way yours looks? I had a go today not really thinking it was part of our web 2.0 journey but feeling more empowered to look around websites rather than dip in and out

I love the Tea Dog themes, both in Google Mail and in iGoogle, and I love how they change depending on the time of day! If I get time during this Learning 2.0 course, I'll post a photo of my GMail with the Tea Dog theme.
Looking around is certainly more fun that a quick drop in and out!
