Tim Ferriss on learning how to learn

Tim Ferriss, author of the The 4-Hour Workweek and The 4-Hour Body, is producing a new book. The 4-Hour Chef will focus on learning how to learn, using cooking as a way of showing you the learning strategies that people use when learning new information and skills.

These books are usually very popular, and written in quite an aggressive pro-active style, something that isn't often used in an educational (or cooking) context. It will definitely be an interesting read, and hopefully offer new insights or tips for learning both online and offline.

The 4-Hour Chef will be published as both a print book, and electronically for the Kindle, and is available for pre-order with a huge discount on amazon.com. However, there is a very long wait until it is published in September 2012.

Tim is also offering readers of his blog a chance to win a free Kindle Fire, in exchange for spreading the word about his new book. As a taster, he has released the free 4-Hour Chef Christmas Countdown app, currently only for the Kindle Fire.

I question the timing of the publicity - to get pre-orders for Christmas, but nothing delivered until September 2012 is in keeping with his aggressive style, but feels a little too pushy for me. I hope Amazon.com has their dates wrong.
